HEERF Update 7/10/21

CRRSAA: Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF II)

Erie Institute of Technology has received $243,761 under Section 84.425Q of CRRSAA to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. All emergency grants must be distributed by 2/15/2022. Between 4/1/2021 and 6/30/2021, $121,000 has been distributed to 121 students.

Any student who is in an active status may apply for these funds. Requirements include completing an application indicating current aid sources or in lieu of aid, a narrative detailing substantial financial need within the household. The application will be emailed to each active student’s school email account and must be returned to the Director of Erie Institute of Technology by email, mail, or in person.

Students with substantial financial needs will be prioritized in the awarding process. Preliminary award amounts are projected to range from $250.00 – $1,000.00 per student.

Students whose households have experienced an income reduction in 2020 or 2021 may request an income review via this application, by visiting the Financial Aid Office on campus, or by emailing the Financial Aid Office.

The remaining portion of the student fund will be reserved for future student emergency grants, which can be requested via an application that will be emailed to every active student each semester, including new students. All grants will be awarded by a committee and amounts will be determined by individual need on a case-by-case basis until the grant is exhausted.

For additional questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 814-868-9900 or financialaid@erieit.edu.
