HEERF Update 04/10/22

CRRSAA: Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (HEERF II) and ARP: American Rescue Plan (HEERF III)

Erie Institute of Technology has signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement assuring that the institution will use the funds designated under the CRRSAA and ARP programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Erie Institute of Technology has received a total of $388,066.00 under Section 84.425Q of CRRSAA and the ARP to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. All emergency grants must be distributed by 06/30/2023. Between 01/01/2022 and 03/31/2022, $41,300.00 has been distributed to 118 students.

Any student who is in an active status may apply for these funds. Requirements include completing a short application indicating current aid sources or, in lieu of aid, a narrative detailing substantial financial need within the household. The application will be emailed to each active student’s school email account quarterly and may be returned to the Director of Erie Institute of Technology by email, mail or in person.

Students with substantial financial need will be prioritized in the awarding process. Preliminary award amounts are projected to range from $250.00 – $1,000.00 per student.

Students whose households have experienced an income reduction in 2020 or 2021 may request an income review via a checkbox on this application, by visiting the Financial Aid Office on campus or by emailing the Financial Aid Office.

The remaining portion of the student fund will be reserved for future student emergency grants, which can be requested via an application that will be emailed to every active student each semester. All grants will be awarded by a committee and amounts will be determined quarterly until the grant is exhausted.

For additional questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 814-868-9900 or financialaid@erieit.edu.
